Michael Vabakos

Michael Vabakos, age 85, at rest on November 29, 2022. Michael was a Veteran in the United States Army during the Korean War. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis (nee Hono). Loving father of Cleo (Dean) Leftakes and Elaine Vabakos and the late Ted Vabakos. Cherished Papou of Peter, Christopher, Alex and Athena. Great grandfather of Anastasia Dear brother of the late Paul (The late Patricia) Vabakos and fond uncle, cousin and friend to many. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Illinois. A second visitation will take place on Saturday, from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:30 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 10050 Ivanhoe Ave, Schiller Park, IL 60176. (Everyone please meet at church) Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Elmwood Cemetery.
