Michael Knecht

Michael R. Knecht, age 57, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024. Michael was the loving father of Katie and John Knecht; dear brother of Bryan (Joann), Kenneth (Sally) and Sandra Knecht; beloved boyfriend of Julie Granzow for over 20 years; dearest son of the late Charlet and Roger Knecht; fond uncle of Leah and Amanda Knecht and Christie, Hailey, and Hannah Campus.
Mike loved his children with all his heart. He also took Julie’s other children, Joey and Jimmy, under his wing and supported them through their teenage years. Mike was well respected by Julie’s mom and dad and brothers, Dion and Richy (Beth). He worked at Dudek & Bock for ~30 years and was a big sports fan, music fan and animal lover. Mike was at the United Center in 1996 when the Bulls won the NBA Championship, went to countless White Sox and Blackhawks games, and attended 100+ Bears games with his brother over the years. As a huge music fan Mike saw hundreds of concerts, way too many to list. He has many many long-term friends who share memories of Mike that will last a lifetime. GOOD TIMES !!!
If Mike had an opportunity to share some final words with his friends and family, they would be “I love you all – Be happy and ENJOY YOUR LIFE !!!”
Visitation Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. A funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home, and we will proceed to Montrose Cemetery in Chicago for the interment. For more information call (708)456-8300.
