Michael Frenzel

July 17, 1958 — October 10, 2024

With heavy hearts, we are saddened to share the sudden passing of our beloved Mike.

Michael G. Frenzel, age 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 10, 2024. Mike was the devoted husband of Jill Bosch for 25 wonderful years; loving father of Michael G. Frenzel Jr., Zachary Frenzel and the late Scott Frenzel; dearest son of the late Gerald and Gail Frenzel, and son in law of Lillian and the late Tony Bosch, Jr.; dear brother of Gerilyn (Chris) Sennott, James Frenzel, Leslie (Nell) Frenzel, Laurie (James) Singer and Patrice Pickering, and brother in law of Mary (Dave Hess) Yark, Anthony (Becky) Bosch and the late Jacqueline (Joe) Fulecky and the late Jim Yark; fond uncle of many.

Mike was a kind and loving man who always put his family first. He was a pillar of the Frenzel and Bosch families. Mike was born and raised in Glenview, IL, where he attended grade school at OLPH and Loyola Academy, and later played football and rugby at Texas A&M University, where he also earned a degree in engineering. After college, Mike went on to play for the USA men’s rugby team.

Mike loved to cook; he’d spend hours, or even days, preparing for big gatherings to ensure he never disappointed his many hungry guests. If he was not in the kitchen, you could find him at the hockey rink with his boys, which served as his second home and the foundation of many lifelong friendships. Mike was a selfless leader in every aspect of life, which carried over into his career. He went out of his way to ensure the success of others, and his character was recognized by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Mike will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Mike loved his country; he was a true patriot. He made sure to stay informed about current events and always reminded others of upcoming elections. For this reason, in lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be sent to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation. Since 9/11, Tunnels to Towers has been helping American heroes by providing mortgage-free housing to Gold Star families and fallen first responder families with young children, and by building specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.  Please see the link below:
