In Loving Memory Mary Rose Rippley 7/1/1922- 9/3/2016This past Saturday my mother passed after a bout with cancer. She had her first hospital experience last year at 93 and determinably bounced back in a couple of months. On July 31st she fell sick and was diagnosed with cancer that moved rapidly through her body. She was a vibrant, loving woman that has been an inspiration to all that she came in contact with. With my dad’s passing in 1985 she found the strength and fortitude to go on. She moved to Las Vegas in 2004 which she said added many good years to her life.On her last conscious time we had together I wanted to say good bye and she insisted I don’t say “Goodbye” say “So Long”. Not thoroughly understanding her meaning I investigated the phrase which is a salutation of parting which means “see you later” or” till we meet again”.She lived a full active life and we must celebrate her 94 years and the strength she showed through her later life. Now apart 31 years she rejoins my father. In parting, Mary Rippley you will be thought of and sorely missed. So long Mom.Mary Rose Rippley, age, 94 of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Norridge, IL. Beloved wife of the late Leonard; loving mother of Robert L. and Ronald O. Family and friends are asked to meet Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the office at St. Joseph Cemetery, located at Belmont and Cumberland in River Grove, IL for a graveside service.
