Mary Brudny

Mary Brudny, age 92, passed away on June 1, 2017. Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Anna, nee Kosteczko, and the late Stephen Brudny; loving sister of the late Stephanie Ovcharchyn and the late Helen (John) Melinyshyn; beloved aunt of Christine (the late John) Devitt-Westley, Steve (Jannon) Ovcharchyn, Mark Ovcharchyn, Mary (the late Keith) Prosser, Lev (Delia), Paul (Dawn) and John (Jillian) Melinyshyn and Bohdan Kardasiuk; great aunt of Emily (Markian) Pawluk, Sister Mary Agnes "Katie" P.C.C., Michael (Briana) Devitt, Stephanie Melinyshyn, Karen (Matt) Sutter, Tommy Devitt, Samantha (Andrew) Sturgeon, Matt Melinyshyn, Hannah Ovcharchyn and Mark Melinyshyn; great-great aunt of Lyla and Maksym. Mary was a member of the Ukrainian National Women's League of America and a Psychologist with the Chicago Public School District for over 25 years. Visitation will be Thursday June 8 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. (Panachyda Service 6:00 p.m.) at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, at the funeral home, and will then proceed to St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
