Mary Ann Rose (née Sullivan), age 92, passed away on May 4, 2026. Mary Ann was born on August 5, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Edward P. Sullivan Sr. and the late Ruth A. (née Monahan) Sullivan.
Beloved wife of Kenneth J. Rose Sr. for over 70 wonderful years. Loving mother of Kenneth (Barbara) Rose and Kathleen (the late William P.) Van Pelt. Cherished grandmother of Adam Rose (April Pollard) and Emily Rose (Graeme Quinn). Dear sister of Thomas (Mary) Sullivan and the late Edward P. Sullivan Jr. (Sol), and sister-in-law of the late Trudy Sullivan. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews and dear friend to many, especially the late Rosemary O’Maera.
Mary Ann had a deep love for her dog, Mr. Penny and cat Pandora Belle, who brought her much joy and companionship. She had a passion for fashion and clothing, and she enjoyed expressing her creativity through painting. An avid reader, Mary Ann especially loved novels, biographies, and keeping up with the daily newspaper.
Memorial Visitation for Mary Ann will take place on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Monica Church, 5136 N. Nottingham Ave., Chicago, IL 60656. Interment will be private at a later date.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her grace, warmth, and the love she shared with her family and all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished always.
