Mary Alvarez

Mary S. Alvarez (PG) nee Lopez, age 83, of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully athome on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Beloved wife of Frank for 57 years and loving mother of Maria(Jesse) Alvarez-Tinoco and Deborah, C.F.D. Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Joshua, andNatalie. Dear sister of Pat (the late Thomas) Velasquez and Lupe (the late Gregory) Alvarez.Preceded in death by her parents Benito and Cenobia Lopez, and her siblings Lino (Evelyn),Reverend Angel, Boniface (Florence), Leonard (Rosemary), Sabina Valadez, Joseph, andRobert (Yolanda). Fond aunt and cousin to many.Mary was a woman of deep faith and generosity. She was a longtime parishioner ofImmaculate Conception Church, where she sang in the parish choir. She had a love for musicand often sang at home. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and was always there for themin times of need. She will be greatly missed.Visitation on Sunday, June 14, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at CumberlandChapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Avenue, Norridge, IL. The Funeral Mass will be held at ImmaculateConception Church on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at thechurch by 9:45 a.m. The interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL. We arelimited to 50 visitors at a time. We ask that once you have paid your respects, you exit thefuneral home so that all who wish to visit can do so.
