Mark Vail

Mark G. Vail, age 68, CPD Retired, United States Coast Guard Veteran, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on December 20, 2023. Mark was the beloved husband of Mary Jo for 38 wonderful years; loving father of Luke G. and Colin J. Vail and Devin (Danny) Pacheco; dearest son of Mary Elizabeth "Betty" and the late Andrew Vail; dearest brother of Andy (Susan) Vail, Mary Carol (the late Marty) Carey, Maureen (Jim) Wronski, Matt Vail and Karen (Brendan) Curran; fond uncle of many.

Mark was a veteran of the Chicago Police Department serving for 35 years, and was also a drug and addiction counselor. He was a friend of Bill W.

Memorial Visitation is Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a 12:30 p.m. Service at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. All Services will conclude at the funeral home, and the interment will be private.  For more information call (708) 456-8300.
