Marion E. Costante, 90, of Trego, Wisconsin, passed away on November 15, 2024.
She was born to John and Myrtle Leschinski in April 1934 in Chicago, where she was raised and where she graduated from
Kelvyn
Park High School in 1952. She was married twice and was a loving mother to her three daughters. The family started in California and then lived in Colorado, Chicago, and finally Streamwood, where Marion resided for 50 years before moving to Northwest Wisconsin for her last years.
Marion loved getting together with people. Never the gossiping type, she was warm, welcoming, thoughtful, generous, loyal, and always willing to help out. She listened well, drawing people out with her questions. She was observant and had her opinions, but she let people make their own choices in life.
She had resilience and inner strength, more than she realized, that saw her through any hard times and pains. And through it all, her humor and delivery of keen one-liners held fast.
Marion’s love of Yahtzee, jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles, and reading was well-known. She enjoyed concerts, music and cars from the ‘50s, and getting together with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, especially casino runs with her sister, Edith, and later, trips to Arizona, the Blue Ridge Parkway states, Tennessee, the Upper Midwest, and Canada.
What Marion treasured most in life was her family, both her immediate and extended family. They were always her rock and her joy.
Marion is survived by her daughters, Julie Hustvet, Barbara (Craig) Nelson, and Sue Short; siblings, Janet Marino, Alan (Ellie) Leschinski, and Earl (Jan) Leschinski; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and friends.
She was preceded by her parents and siblings Roy (Alice) Leschinski, Edith (Bernard) Snyder, and Warren (Delores) Leschinski.
