Maria Nodal Perez, 85, at rest June 8, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Jose Luis for 51 humor-filled years. Loving mother of Sandra (Carlos) Soria and Sonia (Nestor) Torres. Cherished grandmother of Carlos (Allie), Elizabeth (James), Diana, and Christina. Great grandmother of Jose Luis. Dear sister of the late Maria De La Luz, the late Jesus, the late Maria Nemecia, the late Luis. Loving friend to her dear comadres and compadres and Juventud Obrera Catolica (la JOC) family. Proud aunt to many nieces and nephews, many who served in CPD and CFD. Her happiness was found in sunshine, rainbows, her garden in full bloom and chocolate. Her heart was filled with music from Chente, Elvis, “GeeBees,” Javier Solis, Juan Gabriel, mariachis and many more. Her excitement was built from her competitive nature-Casinos, Poker, Blackjack, the Bears, the Cubs, the Bulls- basically anything with a score. A dedicated, determined, inspiring, and amazingly strong woman. Mom has “won” and is now in God’s eternal embrace.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge. The family encourages you to wear bright colors since Maria was such a joy to those who knew her. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home then proceed to St. Eugene Catholic Church, Chicago, for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery.
