Maria De Lourdes Garcia, 53, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with stomach cancer.
Affectionately known as “Lulu,” Lulu was born on December 29, 1971, to Zeferino García Navarro and Elisa Cardoso Rodríguez in Michoacán, México. At just 13 years old, she met Pastor, at a neighborhood bonfire—it was love at first sight. After graduating high school, Lulu worked as a kindergarten teacher and soon married Pastor. Together, they moved to California, where they welcomed their first child, Lola.
Although California held many memories, Pastor later received a job opportunity, and the family relocated to Chicago. There, Lulu and Pastor welcomed two sons, Alex and Troy. In the US, Lulu dedicated her life to what mattered most to her—being an extraordinary and loving mother.
A devoted Catholic who loved her family above all and always put herself forward to protect and support her children. Lulu was known for her unique sense of style—always sparkling with glitter and a bold red lip. She had a deep love for travel and adventure, never turning down a new experience, whether it was a 22-mile walk or diving in the ocean. A true go-getter and adrenaline seeker, she faced life with strength, grace, and resilience, never complaining and always staying strong.
Lulu touched countless lives with her radiant smile and contagious charisma. Her light, love, and spirit will forever live in our hearts.
