Maria Contacessi nee Sfarzetta, age 88, born in Carbonara (Prov Di Bari) Italia, beloved wife of the late Trifone. Loving mother of Raffaele Contacessi, Mariella (late Giuseppe) Longobardi, Frank (Kristi) Contacessi, and Pina Contacessi. Beloved daughter of the late Francesco and Giuseppa (nee Schiavulli) Sfarzetta. Fond grandmother of Mariangela (Anthony) Pretto, Grazia (Gaetano) Mastrodomenico, Pia Longobardi, Frank and Joseph Contacessi. Loving great grandmother of Sofia and Isabella Pretto. Dear sister of Barbara (Leonardo) Dambrosio. Fond aunt and friend to many. She will be missed by the family pet Bambola.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, IL. Funeral Wednesday, beginning at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. and will then proceed to St. Francis Borgia Church in Chicago for Mass at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum in River Grove, IL.
