Maria "Mary" Bartemes, nee Stark, age 77, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2021. Mary was the loving mother of Alfred W. "Fred" (Linda) Feichtl; dearest daughter of the late Elisabeth and Franz Stark; cherished grandmother of Licia Epstein and Andrea (Steve) Barabasz; dear sister of Frank (Nancy W.) Stark; fond Aunty “Mame” of Elisabeth Stark and the late Philip "P.J." Wehrheim. Mary, a Hungarian-German immigrant, was the proud owner of Frank and Mary’s tavern for nearly 50 years. Her big personality and legendary meatloaf will be remembered by all. She was known for her home-cooked meals, contagious laugh, and immense kindness. A matriarch to many, she will be surely missed by family, friends, and many years of patrons. Visitation Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W.
