Manuel Reyes Caamic

Manuel “Maning” Reyes Caamic, age 86, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. He was born on April 30, 1939, in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. A devoted son to the late Pio and the late Cecilia (nee Reyes) Caamic, Maning was the beloved husband of Rosita (nee Merete) for 53 wonderful years. He was a loving father to Marilou Caamic, Maritess (John) Chartrand, Manuel Caamic Jr., and Michael Caamic, and a cherished Papa to Manuel III, Evan, Mia, Bella, Max, and Maui.

He was the fond brother of Fortunata (the late Carlos Sr.) Virly, the late Vivencio (Rosalina) Caamic, Felicisima (the late Florian) Pawlowski, the late Ricardo (Leonila) Caamic, Federico (Nany) Caamic, and the late Rodolfo (Victoria) Caamic. Maning was a dear uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, all of whom will remember his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor.

Before immigrating to the United States in 1978, Maning worked as a Geodetic Engineer in the Philippines. Upon settling in Chicago, he worked at BNP Paris Bank until his retirement. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his devotion to family, and the sharp wisdom he shared with family and friends. He worked hard to achieve the American dream with the help of many close friends including the Riveras, Luceros, & Cecilios, and made a successful life for himself and his family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels Funeral Home, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Monica Church, 5136 N. Nottingham Ave, Chicago, IL for a 10:00 a.m. mass. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery, 8600 N. Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL.
