Lucyna Tynik Charytonik, age 72.
Born in Sanok, Poland, Lucyna was a woman of exceptional intellect, strength, and dignity. She earned a PhD and pursued a distinguished career as a lawyer before immigrating to the United States, where she built a life grounded in family, faith, and community. Known for her warmth and vibrant spirit, Lucyna loved gardening, bringing people together, and was truly the life of the party, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Devoted wife of Jerry Charytonik. Loving mother of Veronika Charytonik and Joanna Charytonik. Fond grandmother of Benjamin Szumal, Joanna’s son. Loving sister of Grace (Christopher) Misiorowski and Barbara Anklewicz. Dear aunt of Bianka (Matthew) Hoyer, Jessica Misiorowski, and Jakub Anklewicz. Dear friend to many.
Lucyna will be remembered for her grace, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy of love and strength will endure.
Visitation Friday, January 9, 2026 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL 60706. Funeral services begin Saturday, January 10, 2026, 9:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home and will proceed to St. Paul of the Cross Church, Park Ridge, for Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
