Lorenzo Abbate, age 87, at rest on February 8, 2025. Lorenzo was born on August 2, 1937 in Altavilla Milicia in the Metropolitan City of Palermo in the Italian region of Sicily. He is preceeded in death by his parents, the late Francesco and the late Rosalia Abbate. Beloved husband of Anna (nee Guagliardo). Loving father of Frank (Sandy), John (Katie), Lorenzo (Ariana) and Joe (Jamie). Cherished Nonno of Nick, Eric (Erika), Nicholas, Juliana, Abby, Lorenzo, Emma, Jake and Ryan. Dear brother of the late Christina (the late Lorenzo) Abbate, the late Joe (Anna Maria) Abbate, the late Rosalia (the late Salvatore) Parisi, the late Anthony Abbate and the late Angelo Abbate. Loving uncle, cousin and friend to many. Visitation for Lorenzo will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Il. Funeral Thursday, begininng at the funeral home at 9:00 am and then proceed to St. Monica Church, in Chicago, for 10:00 am. Mass. Entombment will follow at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Mausoluem at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Des Plaines.
