Linnea M. "Linn" Balder, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023. Linn was the dearest daughter of the late Frances and Sidney Balder; dear sister of the late Russell (the late Doris) Balder, loving aunt to their sons Dieter and Kurt Balder, and a friend to many.
Linn was a proud Evanstonian, Northwestern University Wildcat (Class of ’59), and a graduate of John Marshall Law School in Chicago. She was an avid reader and loved photography and travel. She was a believer and supporter of the arts including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and public television.
A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Acacia Park Cemetery 7800 W. Irving Park Rd. in Chicago. Those who wish to attend are asked to gather inside the gate of the cemetery by 12:55 p.m. For more information call (708)456-8300.
