Beloved husband of Joan Mattes nee Lesner; loving father of James, Don (Margaret), Karen (Martin) Tannehill, and David (Erin); beloved son of the late John (Verna) Mattes nee Sippel; loving step-son of the late Walter (Elizabeth-Betty) Brady nee Maly; fond grandfather of Katie, Sarah, Andrew, Kelly, Christopher, Michael, Rebecca, Morgan, Courtney, Ryan, Kaitlyn; dear brother of Lorraine (James) Whitney and the late Laverne (Stanley) Miller; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday July 14, 2016 3:00-9:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, IL 60706. Funeral Services begin Friday 10:00 am at the funeral home until time of Chapel Service at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
