Leopoldo Porto

Leopoldo D. "Dino" Porto, age 87, of Riverwoods, passed away peacefully at his home on October 14, 2023. Dino was the beloved husband of Josephine, nee Gullo, for 62 wonderful years; loving father of Joyce (Rick) Kolinek; dearest son of the late Giuseppa and Giovanni Porto; cherished grandfather of Michelle (Michael) Jacobson and Melissa (Ryan) McNett; great grandfather of Leo McNett; dear brother of the late Vincenzo (the late Maria), the late Tina (the late Raffaele) and the late Joseph (Marina) Porto. Dino was a fond Zio and a loving friend of many.



Dino was born in Caccamo, Italy. Proud of his Italian heritage, Dino belonged to many different societies and organizations including J.C.C.I.A. (Joint Civic Comittee of Italian Americans), the Mazzini Verdi Club, the Comitato Civico Caccamesi, SACA (Sicilian American Cultural Association) and the Bel Canto Foundation.



Visitation Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral services begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home, and then proceed to Holy Cross Catholic Church 724 Elder Ln., Deerfield, Mass at 10:00 a.m. The entombment will follow at All Saints Catholic Mausoleum in Des Plaines.  For more information call (708)456-8300.
