Leontyna Stepkowski, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026. She was born on June 28, 1932, in Poland, to the late Jozef and Maria Twarowski.
A kind, loving, and devoted mother and grandmother, Leontyna was known for her gentle nature, quiet strength, and strong faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Leontyna was the beloved wife of the late Kazimierz Stepkowski and a devoted mother of the late Jozef (Ewa) Stepkowski, Michal (Danuta) Stepkowski, and Dorothy (Grzegorz) Krzyzanowski.
She was the dearest grandmother of Daniel Stepkowski, Magda (Tomek) Los, Paul (Cassie) Stepkowski, Peter (Monika) Stepkowski, Monika (Robert) Garbacz, Jakub (Lexi) Krzyzanowski, and David Krzyzanowski, and the cherished great-grandmother of Anthony, Timothy, Emily, Benjamin, Isabela, Leon, Natalia, and Noah.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren, and was preceded in death by her brothers Czeslaw, Karol, Kazimierz, and Stanislaw.
Visitation for Leontyna will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. in Norridge.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, beginning at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., followed by procession to St. Rosalie Catholic Church, Harwood Heights, for 11:00 a.m. Mass.
Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles.
