Laura J. Watson passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the age of 65. Loving Daughter of the late John & the late Audrey, nee Kurowski, Watson. Dear Sister of Lynn (William) Ignatowski, Lois Finstrom, John (Susan) Watson and James Watson. Lifelong friend and companion of the late Glenn Lilja. Dear Aunt of Nicole (Grant) Best, Eric (Ashley) Ignatowski, James (Kellie) Finstrom, Heather (Fiancé Jose Lopez) Finstrom, Michelle (Joshua) Rosario, Rebecca (Fiancé Bryan McQuaid) Watson, Rachel Watson and the late John Watson VI. Fond Great-Aunt of Evelyn, Lillie, Jasey, Kenley, Rylee, Julian, Vincent and Vivienne. Loving Companion of Furry Friends, the late Corky Mae & the late Misha. Laura was a devoted educator for over 30 years with Chicago Public Schools working with many students, especially those with special needs, and rose to the administrative rank of Assistant Principal before retiring. Laura was also an avid cat lover and active on her Condo Board at the Washington House. Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation and Funeral Service on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Avenue, Norridge, Illinois. A Chapel Service will be celebrated promptly at 1:00 p.m. Interment will remain private. For additional information please call (708) 456-8300.
