Kathleen Wians

Kathleen Marie Wians (née Collins), 68, of Franklin Park, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, with her family by her side.

Beloved wife of the late Larry Wians, devoted mother to Elliot and Julianna Wians (Christopher), and cherished sister of Dr. Teri Collins (Peter Cato), James (Ann) Collins, Michael (Marilyn) Collins, Jeanne Kravetz, Larry (Ella) Collins, and Mark Collins. Kathy was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, a dear friend to many, and the adored companion of her two golden retrievers, Wilson and Wilbur.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Therese Collins; her daughter, Lucy; and her husband, Larry.

Kathy attended  Southern Illinois University – Carbondale and graduated from St. Mary of Nazareth School of Nursing. A dedicated and accomplished nurse for over 40 years, she touched the lives of thousands with her care and compassion. She was also a longtime member and lector at St. Cyprian Parish.

Kathy loved reading, traveling, hosting dinner parties, and spending time with her family. Her warmth, humor, and radiant spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Her smile lit up the room.

Visitation will be held from 1–5 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Cumberland Chapels in Norridge.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 30, at St. Giles Catholic Church in Oak Park.
