Kataryna Protyniak

Kataryna Protyniak, (nee Baluch), who was blessed with 101 wonderful years, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026. Kataryna was the beloved wife of the late Josef; loving mother of Orysia (Andrew) Atanowsky and Daria (Patrick) Harrison; cherished grandmother of Christina Brown and Andrew (Baylee) Kusznir; proud great grandmother of Ava, Ella and Lyla. She was preceded in death by 6 siblings and will be lovingly remembered by family in Ukraine and here.

Visitation Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (Panachyda Service 6:30 p.m.) at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Joseph the Betrothed Ukrainian Catholic Church for Mass at 10:30 a.m. The interment will follow at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Cemetery in Chicago.
