Josephine Piazza, nee Terracina, age 79, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Josephine was the loving mother of Lisa and Marco (Chris) Piazza; dearest daughter of the late Giuseppa and Ambrogio Terracina; cherished grandmother of Angela Josephine Piazza; dear sister of Angela Terracina, Franca (the late Sam) Butera and the late Sarina (Saro) DiMaio and the late Maria Cinquegrani; fond aunt of many.
Josephine absolutely loved to provide for her family. She enjoyed life and always looked forward to spending time with others, usually involving food and/or a few cups of espresso. Josephine loved her family and enjoyed cooking up a meal for 10 even if there were only 5 people present so that everyone can take home leftovers. She still enjoyed making her own homemade pasta sauce. A sweet woman that would always be willing to do more for others than herself, Josephine will be incredibly missed although her kindness and loving nature will live on through all that knew her.
Visitation Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Celestine Church (Mother Theodore Guerin Parish) in Elmwood Park for Mass at 10:00 a.m. The entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Des Plaines.
