Josephine M. Hanch

Josephine “Jo” M. Hanch, age 97 passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents Sam “Nano” Troy (1989) and Jenny “Nani” Troy (1998) and sister Claire Waters (2006). Josphine was the beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Hanch. She was born in the city of Chicago, attended schools and pursued her graduates’ study of arts from The Art Institute of Chicago, Associated Degree from The Goodman’s Theater. Josephine became a loving mother and a homemaker of five beautiful children, Teacher in Chicago Public Schools, Member of Mary Seat of Wisdom Catholic Church and volunteered for many charitable organizations. She also enjoyed hobbies of golfing and reading. She is survived by her loving children: daughter Sue Paige (Barry Rosenblatt), daughter Cathy Hanch, daughter Paula Ziols, son Larry (Angie) Hanch, son John (Tracy) Hanch. Cherished grandmother of: Michelle (Robert) Nicolaus, Jennifer "Jen" Bethard, Jon (Nina) Ziols, Phil Ziols, Vince Ziols, Jessica Hanch and Eddie Hanch. Dearest great grandmother of: Matthew Ziols and Daisy Ziols. With plenty of love: for aunts, uncles, cousins and extended grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many long-life friends. During Josephine final days, she still had a loving heart, encouraging, positive, concerned and wanted the best for her family and friends. Josphine will be truly missed! Visitation Sunday, November 2nd from 10:00 A.M. till time of service 2:00 P.M. at Cumberland Chapels (FRIEL FUNERAL DIRECTORS) 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Interment Private.
