Joseph Netzel

Beloved husband of Cari (nee Czajkowski). Loving father of Joseph and Michelle. Beloved son of the late Kenneth J Netzel, Sr and Phyllis Netzel. Brother of Kenneth (Ivy), Daniel (late Maureen), and Lisa Scumaci (Andy). Uncle to Christopher, Mallory, Jordyn, Devin, and Nick.
Building his life with his family was his main focus during his 61+ years. With his wife of 37+ years, Cari, by his side, he tried to ensure his son and daughter, Joe and Michelle, led happy, loving and productive lives. Whether it was little league, softball, bowling, dance or academics, he always pushed them to do and be their best. Besides the awesome "Dad jokes" he told, helping guide his kids through this thing called life was something he enjoyed tremendously. He lost his battle with cancer after 5+ years, but never lost his sense of humor, his fighting spirit, or his love for his family.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels at 8300 W. Lawrence Ave Norridge, IL 60706.
In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation in Joe's memory to the Western Golf Association Evan's Scholarship Foundation (wgaesf.org) or Imerman's Angels (imermanangels.org). Both organizations have been a great help, one to college bound high school students and the other for cancer patients. Joe volunteered his time and worked with them both.
