Joseph Mistarz

Joseph "Józek" Mistarz, age 84, passed away September 26, 2026, leaving behind a family who will deeply miss him. Joseph was the loving husband of Kazimiera for 47 wonderful years; beloved father of Henry (Katherine) Mistarz and Anna (Marcin) Dudziak; cherished grandfather (Dzia Dzia) of Roman and Clara Mistarz, and Olivia and Jacob Dudziak; dear brother of Maria (the late Zdzislaw), Stanislawa (Wladyslaw), Aleksander (Olek), Marian (Maria), and the late Janusz; dearest uncle, godfather, cousin, and friend of many.

Joseph’s greatest source of pride and joy was his family, especially his four beloved grandchildren. As a devoted Dzia Dzia, he treasured opportunities to attend their sporting events, school activities, and special milestones, always cheering them on and celebrating their accomplishments. He was a sports fan who loved watching all types of sports, and he also had a deep love for music, finding great joy in listening and dancing to his favorite songs and melodies. The love he had for his family, his passion for sports and music, will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Visitation will take place on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Avenue. Funeral services will take place the following day, meeting at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. and proceeding to St. Monica Church for mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery.
