Joseph L. McNiff, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. Joseph was the beloved husband of Nancy M. (nee Williams), for 67 wonderful years, and who passed away one day before him on January 11, 2026. He was the loving father of Debbie (the late David) Grunwald, Larry (Carmella) McNiff, Peggy (Jack) Polaski and Suzy (Tim) Rogness; cherished grandfather of John, Matt (Colleen), Mark (Jordan) and Joey McNiff, Brian and Kevin Polaski, Brittany Rogness, Erica (Brandon) Doll and Luke Rogness; great grandfather of Leah, Logan and Cameron McNiff; dear son of the late Lois and Joseph McNiff; dear brother of Judy Ruggles and the late Jim and Jack McNiff and brother in law of the late Roy (Caroline) and the late Wayne Williams. He was a fond uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Joe was a great man whose family was always his priority. A proud Union Local 134 Electrician, Joe's known for his humor, generosity, and gregarious spirit. He became friends with everyone he met. Through his unwavering faith, Joe was given strength and peace. We will miss him deeply and remember him always.
Visitation Monday, January 19, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Eugene Church (Queen of Peace Parish) 7958 W. Foster Ave., Chicago for Mass at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. For more information call (708)456-8300.
