Joe Klebek, 94, a lifelong resident of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by his deep love of family, unwavering work ethic, and genuine interest in others. He had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, and his warmth left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago, Joe grew up in a close-knit family that shaped the values he carried throughout his life. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. In 1958, he married Helen, and together they built a beautiful life, sharing 37 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion.
In his retirement, Joe found great joy on the golf course and, most of all, in time spent with his children and grandchildren. He never met a stranger, always quick with a smile, a kind word, or a bit of humor. Joe made friends easily, loved deeply, and gave that love unconditionally. He will be forever loved and missed.
He is the beloved husband of the late Helen (née Baron). Loving father of Susan, Jeffery, Catherine (John Kolet), and Janet (Jay Patton). Cherished grandfather of Zachary, Matthew, Lauren, Connor, Caroline, Hailey, Hayes, and Max. Dear brother of Lorraine (late Henry Kaluzny), Daniel (late Carol Klebek), Theresa (Dave Merrill), and the late Edward Klebek. Fond uncle of many.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 29, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral services will begin Monday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Monica Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s memory to Honor Flight Chicago. https://secured.honorflightchicago.org/forms/donate
