Joseph Hickey

Joseph Hickey, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2024. Joseph was the beloved husband of Anita Marie, nee Calvacca, for 35 wonderful years; proud and loving father of Matthew Justin Hickey; dearest son of the late Marie and Christopher; dear brother of Winnie (Bill) Quinn, Cathy (John) Conroy, John (Michelle), Frank (Karen) and Christopher (Margie) Hickey, fond brother-in-law of Jerry (Diane) Calvacca and he was an adored uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Joe was an aircraft mechanic at American Airlines for 38 years. He was one of the best in his field; a mentor to many, and was admired immensely by all of his fellow coworkers. Over the years, as an avid music lover himself, Joe had a special talent for bringing people together. He organized countless outings with family and friends at a variety of concerts and other musical events around town. His proudest moment was watching his son Matthew flourish in his career as a music teacher. Joe never missed a single performance and was always there for his son. Joe was a beautiful person, inside and out, and will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.

Visitation Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, at the funeral home, and will then proceed to Saint Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge for Mass at 10:00 a.m. All Services will conclude following mass and the interment will be private.  For more information call (708)456-8300. Memorial contributions may be made to Ann & Robert H.
