John C. Shea November 27, 1930 - September 23, 2013John C. Shea, 82, a loving, generous, wise, well-respected, gentle man. At peace with Christ, Monday September 23, 2013. Beloved husband of 60 years to Rosemary. Loving father of Julie Shea, John Shea, Roseanne Tyrrell (Kelly), Mary Beth Fahey (Greg), and Mark Shea (Veronica). Cherished grandfather of Kristina Shea, Amanda and Sean Tyrrell, Kyle, Christopher, Tyler, and Justin Fahey, and Ryan and Madeleine Shea. Dear brother of Georgia Nolen, the late Patricia Hammel, and the late James Shea. Fond cousin, uncle, and friend to many. John was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Detroit, Michigan, University of Detroit and University of Detroit Law School. John was an accomplished professional and businessman with a rich and varied career as an attorney and CPA in Michigan, co-founder of Fairmont Homes Inc. and founder of United Housing International in Indiana, long time Vice President and Trustee of Savair Products Company in Michigan, and the last 20 years, founder and owner of Centennial Place, a retail center in Granger Indiana. John loved poetry (especially when written by his grandchildren), music, and art. His work and good fortune allowed him to travel the world. Closer to home, his favorite places included watching the sunset at Lake Wawasee and the sunrise over the ocean in Ft. Lauderdale surrounded by his family. For the last 12 years, John and Rosemary have resided in the Chicago area in Park Ridge close to their family. Visitation Thursday, 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral services begin at 9:00 a. m. at the funeral home and will proceed to St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge, 320 S. Washington, for Mass at 10:00 a. m. Committal Prayers will follow at Acacia Park 7800 W. Irving Park Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
