John A. Sammarco, 84, U.S. Army Korean War Veteran; Beloved husband of Mary Jane nee Hurckes; Devoted father of Kathleen (Nicholas) Angelos, John (Roxanne) Sammarco, Mary Ann Lafler, Paul (Janelle) Sammarco, Christine (Steve) Binderup, Annette (Christopher) Stachura, Philip (Tammy) Sammarco and the late John Joseph Sammarco; Loving grandfather of Alexis, Paige, Ryan, Charlie, Chelsea, Lauren, Blair, Stevie, Eric, Caitlin, Amanda, Andrew and Alec; Dear brother of the late August Sammarco, the late Anne Camodeca and fond uncle to many. John was the founder of JS Printing, still operated by his family. He was a longtime member of Norridge-Harwood Heights Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, Divine Savior Holy Name Society and the Norridge Golden Fellowship Club. A proud Norridge resident since 1956, John will be missed by his many friends and neighbors. Visitation will be Friday February 15th from 3:00 - 9:00 pm at CUMBERLAND CHAPELS 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral service begins Saturday at 9:30 am at the funeral home and will proceed to Divine Savior Church for 10:30 am Mass. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
