John Melinyshyn

John Melinyshyn, age 99, passed away peacefully on June 16th. John was the beloved husband of 57 years to the late Helen, nee Brudny; loving father of Lev (Delia), Paul (Dawn Warner) and John (Jillian) Melinyshyn; dearest son of the late Olena and Oleksa Melinyshyn; cherished grandfather of Stephanie Melinyshyn, Samantha (Andy) Sturgeon, Matthew and Mark Melinyshyn; dear brother of the late Peter, Marika and Wasyl Melinyshyn and a fond uncle of many. In lieu of flowers, donations to: The Ukrainian Hero Fund c/o St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church 5000 N. Cumberland Ave., Chicago, IL 60656 would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. (Panachyda 7:00 p.m.) at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, at the funeral home, and will then proceed to St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery.
