John Masley

John Myron Masley, PhD, MBA, 73; Beloved husband of Elizabeth nee Wahrbein; Devoted father of Arlene (David) Nowicki, Karen (Justus) Joseph, Joseph (Crystal) Masley and the late Frank Masley; Loving grandfather of Hana, Devin, Clara, Brandon, Serena, Caroline, Justus Jr., the late Lily and Naomi; Cherished son of Helen and the late Myron Masley; Dear brother of Peter (Irene) Masley, Maryanne (George) Hannett, Kathleen (Kevin) Skerrett and Tim (Lynn) Masley; Fond uncle and cousin of many. John was known for his brilliant mind, graduating first from The University of Notre Dame and then earning his PhD in Math from Princeton. He had a mastery of numbers, working both as an engineer and a professor of number theory at UIC. Visitation will be held Thursday June 24th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home proceeding to St. Eugene Church for 10:30 a.m. Mass. Committal service to follow at Acacia Park Cemetery.
