John Krebs

Reverend John F. Krebs, 86, passed away February 28, 2018. Beloved son of the late John and Elizabeth Krebs. Dear brother of the late Lydia F. (the late Sune) Bergman and the late Mary Goellner. Fond uncle of Linda (George) Meller, Mike (Nancy) Bergman, Diana (Stuart) Kaufman, Debi Trainor, Kathy Hevlow, Donna Lewis, and Steven Goellner. Great uncle of many, with fond family in Germany. A faithful priest in the Chicago Archdiocese for over 50 years, Father John remembered with affection his many friends and parishioners at the communities of St. Benedict Parish (Chicago, starting 07/06/1957, his first posting), St. Albert the Great Parish (Burbank), Transfiguration Parish (Wauconda), Santa Maria Del Popolo Parish (Mundelein), St. Benedict Parish (as pastor from 1979 to 1992), Santa Maria Del Popolo Parish (a second posting), and St. Bede Parish (Ingleside, as pastor from 1993 to 2002). Visitation will be Friday, March 9, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Chicago, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery.
