John Dahlquist

It is with great sadness we share the passing of a true gentleman – John (Jack) Cornelius Dahlquist, age 96 of Norridge, IL. Jack was the youngest of four sons of the late Leonard and Mildred (nee Thise).
He was preceded in death by his three older brothers: Chuck, Don and Len, his beautiful wife of 72 years Joan Marie, and his two sons Terry and John (Brian).
Jack leaves behind 5 fortunate children: MariJo (Randy), Tom (Linda), Maureen (Eric), Bob (Deann), and Jim (Holly).
He was blessed to have 12 beautiful grandchildren to make him smile: Karrie (Nick), Lisa (Pete), April (Eric), Lauren (Matt), Katie (Terry), Marc (Mallory), Bryan (Lindsey), Meghan, Steven, Michael, Ashley and Caroline.
His 14 great grandchildren Brenna, Kenzie, Grace, Paige, Nina, Amy, Chloe, Nora, Reece, Hazel, Jackson, Penny, Carter, and Emerson were an added joy to his later years.
Jack treasured his relationships with several relatives, including many nieces and nephews, his neighbors, and his parish friends. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and a devoted parishioner of St. Eugene Catholic Church for 70 years. Jack will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his big heart. He always wanted to help others and put a smile on your face.
Visitation will be held at Cumberland Chapels on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 3:00PM to 8:00PM.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home, and will then proceed to Queen of Peace (St. Eugene) Catholic Church for Mass at 10:30AM. The interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. For more information call (708)456-8300.
