Seventeen months ago, it was with a broken heart that we announced the death of our Dad Jack Spatafora.
Once again, our hearts are broken as we announce the death of our Mom Joan Spatafora.
She died July 5th from a fall she suffered June 5th.
Mom was a fighter her whole life and tried to fight at almost 95 years of age, but this fight proved to be too much.
She was our Mom and meant the world to us. She was also a daughter, a niece, a college graduate, a devoted wife, a sister-in-law, an aunt, a talented Chicago actor known and respected by the theater community, a mother-in-law, a proud loving grandmother and a friend and confidant to too many to list here.
Mom always tried to be the best at all she attempted. As her children, we admire and thank her for that.
Life became more difficult as age took its toll.
Her son, our brother Rick, died suddenly three years ago. Then the love of her life, our dad Jack, died seventeen months ago. It was all so painful then another fall. It was all too much to bear.
We were able to honor our Mom’s lifelong wish to not be in a facility and live out her life and ultimately her death in her home surrounded by love.
Mom, you know true peace now and we'd like to believe you are reunited with all your loved ones that left this life before you.
We love and miss you.
Rest in peace always.
