Joan Raimondi

Joan Mary Raimondi (nee Kostner) 85, of Norridge was called home to
the Lord on June 17, 2021. She was born at home in Chicago on
January 30, 1936 to the late Genevieve Sniegowski (the late Thaddeus
Piorek) and the late Edward Kostrzewski. Joan Mary was the beloved
wife and best friend to the love of her life, Michael for 66 years.
She was the loving mother to Theresa, Michael, Anthony (Cindy),
Vincent (Terri), Elizabeth (Jerry) Johnsen and the late John. Mother-inlaw to Debi Raimondi.
She is survived by her beloved grandchildren Jessika Johnsen, Nicholas
(Rebekah), Stephanie (Dave) Skuza, Ryan and Olivia.
She welcomed her first cherished great-grandchild, Isabella Olivia just
this month.
Joan was a dear sister-in-law to late Annie (the late Harry) Chiovarie,
William (the late Sandra) (Josephine), the late Donna Mae (the late
Sam) Retondo, and the late John (Barbara).
She was the fond Aunt and cousin of many.
She will be greatly missed by her furbabies, Chance and Loki.
Joan Mary was preceded in death by her brother Thaddeus (late
Patricia) Piorek and her dear sister, Victoria Piorek.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge. Funeral Wednesday, beginning at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. and then proceed to Our Lady Mother of the Church for 11:00 a.m. Mass. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery at the Mary Mother of God Mausoleum in Des Plaines.
