Joan Loutos

Joan Loutos, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026. Joan was born on February 5, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late John and the late Celia Schmid.

Joan was the beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Loutos. Loving mother of William “Bill” (Shari) Loutos, the late Angelo “Andy” Loutos, and John (Melissa) Loutos. Dearest grandmother of Molly, Anne Marie, Shelby, Shawn (Ashley), Ryan (Sarah Lehmann), Sabrina (Sam Bonebrake), Nicholas, Angelo, and Michael. Dear sister of the late John Schmid. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Joan had a special love for the beauty of nature, especially flowers, and she found great joy in caring for and being surrounded by animals. She was an avid cat lover and had a tender heart for all animals. Above all, Joan cherished her family dearly. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment she spent with them, creating memories that they will carry with them forever.

Joan will be remembered for her loving heart, her gentle spirit, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to her family and She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever bloom in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

Visitation for Joan will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 9:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Illinois. Interment will follow at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago, Il.
