Joan Christian

Joan E. Christian, nee Tulloch, age 85, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2023. Joan was the beloved wife of Edmund C. for 60 wonderful years; loving mother of Paul A. (Justine), Elizabeth A. and Mark S. (Jessica) Christian; dearest daughter of the late Mary and William Tulloch; cherished grandmother of Melanie, Nathaniel, Camden, Adventure and Epoch Christian; dear sister of William C. (Annabelle) Tulloch; fond aunt of James, Doris and George.

In her youth, Joan was an avid badminton player and shocked many in the state of New York by winning the state singles badminton championship in 1956. She enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing with Edmund and her children.

She was a devoted parishioner of St. Francis Borgia Deaf Center. For decades, she held various positions of responsibility with the Church. She was a long-time member of ICDA ( International Catholic Deaf Association).

Visitation Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home, and will then proceed to St. Francis Borgia Church 8033 W. Addison, Chicago for Mass at 10:30 a.m. The interment will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery in Chicago. For more information call (708)456-8300.
