Jerome O'Hara

Jerome "Jerry" Patrick O'Hara, age 90, at rest on May 9, 2024. Beloved husband of Margaret Teresa (nee O'Sullivan) O'Hara. Loving father of Eileen (the late Carmine) DiBalsamo and Patrick O'Hara. Fond grandfather of Rose DiBalsamo and Gaetano (Shannon) DiBalsamo. Dear brother of Mrs. Marie McAuliffe (Ireland), the late John O’Hara (Ireland), Patrick O’Hara (Chicago), and Mrs. Pauline Lawrence (Ireland). Fond uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Jerry “Red” left his family farm in Newcastle West, Limerick, Ireland at a young age to pursue work in England, later Canada and then eventually settled in Chicago where he met his wife at an Irish dance. He held various jobs working on the docks, as a CTA Lineman, construction laborer and retired owning Jerry’s Landscaping.  Jerry loved the national Limerick hurling team, rugby, Irish newspapers, farming, gardening and a good cup of tea.

Memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 10:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:30 am at Queen of Peace Parish at St. Eugene Church  7958 W Foster Ave, Chicago, IL 60656. Interment will be private.
