Jeanine Marie Mannella, age 49, passed away on September 17, 2025. She was born on August 22, 1976. Jeanine was the devoted mother of Quentin Mannella-Lee; cherished daughter of John Mannella Sr. and Mary Murphy Massaro; and loving sister of John Mannella III (Holly), Jamie Alvarez (Adam), Maegan Pettit, Tommy Murphy Coyle, and Tara Murphy Coyle. She was a proud aunt to Jordan and Daniella Alvarez and Adrienne and Dominic Mannella. Jeanine loved her family deeply, especially her son Quentin, who was the joy of her life. She will be remembered for her laughter, her voice, and her big heart. A Loving Tribute Jeanine had a way of lighting up every room she walked into. She loved to laugh—at everything and anything—and could turn even the simplest moment into a memory. Her family will always remember her singing silly, catchy songs to Quentin as a baby, or answering the phone with a joyful, “Hi Sissy!” when her sister called. Nobody laughed harder, loved louder, or showed her pride in her family more than she did. She was most proud of being Quentin’s mom. She adored her son and loved sharing their life together, always posting pictures of the two of them. She also carried love for her siblings and for her nieces and nephews. She checked in with her dad and Quentin every day, and she and her dad shared a special bond, spending countless hours laughing, teasing, and making fun of each other in a way only the two of them could. Quentin remembers his mom as “a kind and funny person with a good heart” who always knew how to brighten someone’s day when they were feeling down. “She always had a joke for anything you said,” he shared, recalling how much she loved talking with others and making them laugh. To him, and to all who knew her, mom will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Growing up, she often helped care for her younger siblings, but she also knew how to have fun—whether ice skating with Jamie at the rink, or playfully pinching her brother’s and sister’s lips. One favorite story is when little Jeanine got baby John out of his crib—holding him by the neck—and carried him outside to proudly show her friends. Another memory her siblings cherish is her putting keys under their mom’s glass coffee table and letting babies Tommy and Tara try to grab them, knowing full well they never could. Even as she got older, her playful spirit never faded—like the time she offered her car to Maegan for a quick grocery run, though her “boat-like” car made driving a hilarious adventure. Jamie also fondly remembers singing and dancing around together, filling her house with laughter and joy. She adored her dogs, Gatti and Harley, and she loved good food, freestyle music, and all things dramatic and gangster. She was the Queen of reality and crime TV, always rooting for justice and never afraid to share her opinion. Nobody could rock a high “Auntie bun” quite like she did, and she carried herself with a confidence that was all her own. She also loved her city—Chicago—and was a proud Cubs fan through and through. Just as strongly, she loved being both Italian and Irish. Her thoughtfulness ran deep. For her mother, she once bought a ring engraved with all her children’s names and birthstones, unable to wait until Mother’s Day to give it because she was so excited to see her mom’s joy. That ring, and countless other small acts of love, reflect her generous heart. Her love, humor, and fearless spirit made her unforgettable. She spoke her mind, lived life on her own terms, and left behind memories her family will carry in their hearts forever.
