Janis L. "Jan" Gianos, nee Ingman, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 18, 2024. Janis was the beloved wife of George for forty-one wonderful years; loving mother of Jennifer and Gust Gianos and the late Tony Krerowicz; dearest daughter of the late Praxedes "Pat" Ingman; dear sister of Kevin (Maureen) and the late James R. (the late Annie) and the late Steven Ingman; sister-in-law of Athanasia (John) Johanson, and she was a fond aunt of many.
Janis always tried to make at least one person smile everyday. She was immensely creative; delighting in dreaming up glimmering centerpieces and writing stories & poems. She loved her coffee, watching the Chicago Cubs, and working at the local floral shop where she designed gorgeous arrangements and window displays. Though her personality and compassion dazzled, she loved being adorned in all things sparkly and will forever shine bright like a diamond.
Visitation Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, at the funeral home, and will then proceed to Holy Taxiarhai & St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church 7373 W. Caldwell Ave. in Niles for a Greek Orthodox Service at 10:30 a.m. The interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove. For more information call (708)456-8300.
