Janice Hage

September 13, 1922 — October 18, 2022

Janice Therese Hage, (“Genese” and "G-Girl"), 79, of Chicago’s Dunning neighborhood, passed away peacefully October 18, 2022.

After graduating from Immaculata High School and studying art at Mundelein College, Genese started a long career at McGraw-Hill’s Sweets Division, assisting architects and engineers in the publication of construction and building material guides.

Genese loved teddy bears, wild hats, traveling, and entertaining her family and many longtime friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Lorraine “Boopie” Hage and by her beloved soul mate of 44 years, Frank “Ten Yard” Tenerello.

Dear half-sister of Charmaine Leonetti, loving niece of Sylvia (the late Mitchell) Sroor, and adored “auntie” of way too many cousins to list.

Visitation Monday, October 24, 4-8pm, at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge, IL 60706. Funeral mass Tuesday, October 25, 10am, at St. Eugene Church (Queen of Peace Parish), 7958 W. Foster Ave, Chicago, IL 60656. Entombment to follow at Acacia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, www.mercyhome.org or Tunnel to Towers Foundation: www.t2t.org.
