Janet Kittner

Janet Kittner (nee DeGeorge) age 102, passed away on March 19, 2026. Janet was born on February 12, 1924 to the late Nick and the late Frances. Janet is preceeded in death by her loving husband Harold P. (Hutch) Kittner. Janet is survived by her dear children Nicholas Kittner and Patricia (Paul) Godek. Fond sister the late Frank (the late Esther), the late Carl (Darthea), the late Joseph (the late Vivian), the late Vince (Ann). Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews and great friend to many.

Janet was born and raised on the near north side of Chicago. Her parents immigrated from Sicily and she was so proud of her Italian heritage. Her greatest joy was growing up surrounded by her parents, grandparents, her 4 brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She met her husband, Harold, at a local neighborhood dance hall in1951 and was married in 1953. She had 2 children, Nick and Patty. She had oodles of friends her whole life. She loved life and made the most of every single day for 102 years. She was a devout and faithful woman and was a great example of love, kindness, joy and generosity. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation for Janet will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 9:30 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. at St. Julianna Catholic Church 7201 N Oketo Ave, Chicago, IL 60631 Interment will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Cumberland Chapels.
