Janet M. Jablonski

Janet M. Jablonski (nee Jankowski), age 87 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026. Janet was the beloved wife of the late Edwin “Mike;” loving mother of Diane (John) Nejman, Michael (Barbara) Jablonski and Glenn (Karen) Jablonski; dear daughter of the late Clara and John Jankowski; cherished grandmother of Ashley (Dave) Allen, Sarah and Matthew Jablonski ; great grandmother of Lucy, Isla and Lilly Allen; devoted sister of Patricia “Patsy” (the late Sam) Hedrick and the late Eleanore, Joseph, Helen, Raymond, Beatrice, John, Howard, Dennis, Barbara, and Valerie.

Janet, the youngest of 12 children, was deeply devoted to her family. She shared a close bond with her sisters and was cherished by her older brothers. At just 18 years old, she married the love of her life, Mike, and together they built a beautiful life over 51 years until his passing in 2008. Janet was a devoted wife, loving mother, and the heart of her family.

She found joy in games of all kinds and was an avid reader, especially of Agatha Christie mysteries. She passed along her love of reading to her children, along with her enthusiasm for puzzles, word games, lottery tickets, and trips to the casino.

Janet worked for 10 years in the Pro Shop at Ridgemoor Country Club and also enjoyed spending time working in several local restaurants throughout the area.

Above all, Janet treasured holidays spent with her family and was known as an excellent cook. She was overjoyed by the arrival of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and delighted in spoiling them every chance she had. Janet’s warmth, love, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church, 920 Granville Ave., Park Ridge, IL. All services will conclude following mass and the interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org/donate would be appreciated.
