Jan Gryglak

Jan Gryglak, age 80, passed away peacefully at his home on July 16, 2023. Jan came to the United States in 1965 from Poland and landed in Chicago in 1966 where he worked as a Millwright at Ryerson Steel for 37 years retiring in 2003. The Ryerson plant he worked at is now Lagunitas brewing, we took him there a few years back and he really enjoyed walking around and sharing some stories with the Lagunitas people about what it was like when he was there.

Jan was the beloved husband of Krystyna, nee Banas, for 58 wonderful years; loving father of Adam (Lisa) Gryglak, Beata (Brian) Telkamp and Bogdan (Ashley) Gryglak; dear son of the late Maria and Wladyslaw; cherished grandfather of Carli (Errik Scott) and Austin (Caroline) Gryglak, Jake (Riley Barbour) and Ryan Telkamp, Reece, Carter and Dean Gryglak; dearest brother of Wanda, Jozef, Zofia, Stanislaw and the late Janina, Roman, Tadek, Maria and Karolina.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Pascal Church 3935 N. Melvina, Chicago, on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The interment will be private, in lieu of flowers please send a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: Impact the lives of St. Jude kids - St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org)
