James passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2024 one day after his 91st birthday.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Elsie (John Peters). Also his wives, Marian Marten and Esther Marten. Also preceded in death by his baby sister, Elsie May, brother Theodore and twin sister, Joanne Haig.
He is survived by step children, Larry (Elaine) Ciupik, Debbie (Tony) Boukal and had a special bond with grandson, Tony Grabowski and great grandchildren, Gabby and Alex.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Larry (Leann), Robby (Stacey), and Holly (Sebastian) and five other great granddaughters and one great-great-grandson. Also, many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Thank you to Journey Care Hospice and volunteers for the exemplary care given. And the Avantara LZ.
James made a friend everywhere he went and will be remembered by all who knew him by his kindness and smile.
In Lieu of flowers memorial’s in Jim’s name to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Visitation for Jim will take place on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 9:30 am until time of funeral service at 11:30 am at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge,Il. Interment will follow at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago.
