James R. Cuca

James Cuca, a lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away on October 10, 2025.

Born to the late James and Carol Cuca, James will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and curious soul. He had a longstanding passion for astronomy and was a devoted member and officer of the Chicago Astronomical Society, where he shared his love of the night sky with close friends and fellow stargazers. His enthusiasm, generosity, and quiet humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

James is survived by his brothers, Gerry (Marilyn) Cuca and Jeffery Cuca; his nephew and niece, Nick (Allison) Cuca and Mandy Cuca (Chris Adelphia); and his great-nieces and great-nephew, Fiona and Romy Cuca, and Christopher Adelphia. His family and friends will remember him with deep affection and gratitude for the warmth, thoughtfulness, and joy he brought into their lives.

Memorial services will be held privately.
