Jacqueline O'Koniewski

Jacqueline “Jackie” O’Koniewski (nee Wojcik), age 79, passed away on February 25, 2026. She resided on the far northwest side of Chicago, in Norwood Park. Jackie was a devout Catholic and proud parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church.

Jackie was born on November 1, 1946, to the late Ted and Bernice Wojcik. Jackie was the beloved wife of recently passed Arthur “Arty” O’Koniewski. She was the loving mother of Michael (Karen), Dan (Winona), and Tim (Laura) O’Koniewski, and the cherished grandmother of Bryan and Kevin O’Koniewski and step-grandmother of Hannah and David Russ.

Jackie was a small business owner, she and Arty owned Arthur’s Pharmacy. She then carried on her career as a Walgreen’s pharmacist. Jackie’s personality was vibrant and she had a wonderful sense of humor. A proud Chicagoan at heart, Jackie deeply loved the city she called home. She was a devoted, lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, and rarely missed cheering on her favorite teams. In retirement, Jackie proudly considered herself a “professional slot machine player,” a pastime she enjoyed with enthusiasm and a bit of luck. She was also very fond of musical theatre and enjoyed attending shows whenever she could. Jackie would find great joy tending to her garden, spending time outdoors, and sharing her love of flowers and plants with others.

Her warmth, wit, and love for family and friends will be well remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation for Jackie will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels. Funeral services will begin Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will proceed to Immaculate Conception Church for an 11:00 a.m. Mass. Interment will follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.
